Re: Parisian Ivy League stores?

^ New to me - Good find!

Harvard, Harrisons & Renoma are still in business, but no longer Ivy. They were Minet shops from the old 60's Ivy Boom over there. Rue de la Pompe from memory. Out Passy way.

Randomly check out shoe shops for US made Sebago Beefroll classics. They still have tons over there. Mainly in Black.
Finsbury & Fairmount are also worth a look. 'Search' will bring up more on them. 'Mr. Lad's Paris' has some nice places too - Cafes, etc.

My absence last Thurs/Fri was because I was actually over there helping to sort out my mate Levi who'd had a bit of a mix up as it happens. Only 'The Weejun' knew as we thought L. was a gonner at that point. I rolled up to find him propped up in bed leafing through some rather mucky mags... Levi Lives!

- Let me help with other stuff if you have any questions - I'm really into Paris just now.

Best -

Re: Parisian Ivy League stores?

The Weejun's younger brother used to be the manager of a store called Rodson back in the 80s. The owner Gerard was a nut case, friend of Johnny Halliday and used to spend all his profit on vintage Levis and Harleys.

He also bought the rights to use the name Nettleton for France and good old Alfred Sargent used to make a demi-chasse on the Nettleton 'turning foot' last - a mad vintage 40s swept style with pronounced cut away and short (not un-tall) smaller heels.

I had a couple of pairs back in the day. I recently found a old contact sheet of Weejun the younger standing in the doorway to Rodson.

You remember them, Russell? they were a bit forties and bit rock n roll in that funny way the french have but they did have some nice stuff.

(edited for spelling)
