in case you missed it -- Esquire '67 and college fashion
A Time to Get has a post today worth checking out: http://www.atimetoget.com/2009/03/esquire-67-college-fashion.html . Photo scans from an old Esquire article on those college rats. Some in colour too. The fashion is starting to progress a little but these guys are still pretty clean-cut (even if the hair is getting a little shaggy). I think A Time to Get might be due for inclusion in the blog-roll.

I have a difficult relationship with red sweaters. One month I love them, the next I wonder what I was on. A tough colour, red. Except for socks.

The alchohol itself won't do any damage in moderation - it's the scourer you might need to be wary of. The Weejuns I hacked were so disgustingly awful and gloss that I had nothing to lose. But the Dexters I didn't want to ruin and the cloth and surgical spirit worked fine. You can always re-add polish afterwards and reshine. The spirit will only remove the lacquer unless you take the brillo to them...I wouldn't suggest that.
