White NOS Gant 'The Hugger' BD
Corbin cashmere grey herringbone 3/2 sack
Old Massimi Dutti chinos in brick dust yellow
80s Tecnic John Spencer Montgomery Suede Deserts (as featured before on here)
London Fog Maincoat
Persol folding 714s with blue lenses (in case the sun comes out)
First outing for the Fog andthe Gant shirt.
I like the idea of layering different khakis today with a white shirt to offset, especially when I found the laces in the Montgomerys match the chinos.
Popping in to John Simons later so need to make an effort!
Grey skies, followed by a little drizzle here in the Med...
Camel colour corduroy Buffercoat with navy wool shawl collar (I still can`t get over how soft in the shoulders these jackets are...).
White Hanes Beefy t crewneck
Eeesit colour (light fawn colour similar to malted Horlicks )Anderson & Co. `Kellister` shetland crewneck
Navy blue Oliver Brown cotton cord jeans (tapered to 14 inch hem, and breaking just over the tops of my shoes)
Black suede Original Playboy thick crepe soled chukka shoes. (No, that`s a lie, it SHOULD have been black suede OP SHOES but i gave them away to someone close to me last year,so i actually wore some of my black suede, thick crepe soled GC chukka boots).
Black leather Shushans newsboy (8/4 leather) cap, with the visor bent by hand in half to create that casual, funky inverted V-shape symmetry (a la mode americain) ,which also makes it nice and compact for stuffing in (my) jacket pockets.
A little bit of white cotton t was visible under the jumper at the neck, and also with a tiny bit of white t`showing under the hem of the sweater.I`ll wait for my suede boots to dry and will brush them over with a rubber suede cleaning brush i bought from Crockett & Jones, some years back.
Cashmere and denim is just about my favourite combination at the moment:
White Fruit of the Loom t-shirt
Pale blue B.D. Baggie (with the buttons done up, gentlemen - that particular moment for me has passed)
Dark blue Alan Paine cashmere v-neck
L.L. Bean denims with neat turn-up
Dark blue, almost black, Falke socks
Bean beefroll loafers.
Thank you, Alex. I'm afraid my mates and I were far too young at 13 to be relatively understated, although I knew quite a few 15 and 16 year olds who did manage it, going for the 'English gentleman' look rather than the horrid, flashy, 'in-yer-face' 'style' we dragged away from various cheap boutiques and market stalls. 'Lurid' might be one way of describing it.
The walking out-gear this morning was: the t-shirt, the Baggie, my favourite chinos (Levis: high waist, flat front, neat tapering), white bucks, pale lemon McGregor Drizzler. Looking in the mirror I was almost satisfied (I could do with losing a couple of inches around the middle) that it's 'Ivy'.
Just returned from the barber's and changed from the mostly functional gear I wore on the bycicle into :
brown 'new brogues' ( van Lier ), this variation has a pointer toe than usual
tobacco 'smart wool' socks ( Timberland )
straight legged, raw looking yet confy to wear broken twill denim Wrangler jeans, normal break, handsome wash and two tone stitching
maroon Italian leather belt w/a silver buckle
silver Gant watch w/a brown leather strap
white v-neck T-shirt ( Alan Red )
white regular fit lacoste OCBD with longish collar points ( unfortunately not visible ) underneath a
thin bright/dark red pure new wool 3B Smedley
fresh college boy haircut
very likely to be topped off when going into town later in the afternoon by a brown/khaki lacoste monkey type jacket

^ Ah... broken twill Wranglers. The 13 mwz?
I wore my old pair as well this morning, in the woods, helping a friend building his cabin. With a Uniqlo black watch flannel shirt under a thick ribbed navy sweater, some old Timberland boots and a beige bucket hat.
I think it will be reds, a BD and loafers for me today. If chilly, I'll throw on a navy sweater from Blue Drake. It's my favorite one. Had it about 18 years now. The elbow patches have holes in them. Have to do something about that one of these days.
