What was passing as 'mod' by 1967, certainly - how many of those lads would have been getting crops fairly soon after? These look not wholly unlike those featured in the highly overrated Barnes book from around 1964 - some look downright scruffy, but then I guess that's what running around on beaches does for you...

The Untouchables bring back memories....I was into the skinhead scene during that time when they were first around in the 80s. TBH, not many of *us* really liked mods too much back then, even tho there was a lot of common ground, musically and sartorially to a degree. Funny how a couple of the comments talk about the crowd at the Untouchables gig looking a bit suspect, then you have the Glasgow club video where the attendees seem to be just as suspect and they don't have the privilege of being video'd in the 80s!!!
