The domestic canine looks like it has a wet nose. l would hate to think of the cold snot that must get on the carpet and on the bottom of gentlemans shoos.

Re: Like my Rolex ?

This brutal review of the workmanship of a Rolex watch caused quite a commotion when first published years ago, and, still continues to reverberate...

Re: Like my Rolex ?

I bought my first watch at the base Exchange with my first pay. It was a lovely Bulova Accutron. I'm walking out, wallet considerably lighter and setting the time. I'm standing there, looking at a $5 wall clock for the correct time, looking down at my expensive Bulova, back up to the wall clock and went huh?

I do have a gifted soviet chronograph from my Antarctica patrol.I see people with huge chronos walking about as if they will calculate an emergency shuttle reentry, time a track prospect or evaluate a fresh engine in the Emiliano Zapata drophead coupe MK III .

Re: Like my Rolex ?

The one saving grace of Rolex is their watches maintain their value, not many brands do.  Rolex also have perhaps the best customer service in the industry.  I owned a Submariner for many years and later sold it for the same price I paid for it originally.  Of course, had I invested that money, instead, I would have been better off in the long run.  There used to be a nice older man in the Rockefeller Center area who had a small shop selling Rolexes at a pretty decent discount.

Re: Like my Rolex ?

The luminova is not well put (uneven on the edges of the indexes)

I even managed to cut the edge of the glass AT HOME because it goes above the case so it is easy to hit something with the edge.

So I confirm that Rolex is a cheap brand.

Re: Like my Rolex ?

Haven't read the review of the Explorer (though I will), but I think it's among the better looking watches of that type.  I've got an Oyster Perpetual in stainless with white gold -- it's kind of vulgar, I guess.  I don't know what I was thinking.  I think the date bubble ruins the lines of the watch, too.  Though it's nice to have the date.  Because sometimes I don't know what day it is.    I did buy it in Zurich when the SF was really low and the USD high, if that's any consolation to my ego.
