Mafoo - You know your Doctor in the hut? Is it Voodoo, Mafoo?
I once heard an interesting anecdote from a silversmith and collector. In good economic times silver will tend to be rather plain. But in an economic downturn silver as a rule is more lavishly engraved or embellished. The customer could demand more in slower times.

With 'luxury goods' I like the Rolls- Royce atitude " If you have to ask, you can't afford it." and never publishing horsepower claims. If one cannot become educated on precious stones, the better spirits, cars and clothing ( hmmmm, we should start a online forum on that last) then getting fleeced with shears is one's own fault.
