Re: Q. And A.

What is a 'slack jacket'?

Always meant to ask that one.

Re: Q. And A.

A deconstructed Sack.

'Artisan' is also another name for this style.

Trip has offered that it is Parisian more than Ivy. I just see it as a part of the mix.

The Slack is uber soft shouldered, 3/2, all Ivy details but a lightweight & very casual affair. They come in all fabrics but Linen & Cord are most common. Flusser flogs them under his own name & you can find them on Ebay.

They are Slouch Central!

Re: Q. And A.

Lads,

This purveyour claims to have invented the old le slack jacket.  In that they list ol Flusser and J. Simons as retailers,, I am inclined to believe.  Seems their selection pages are down at the time as they oft show nice jackets. Me thinks that ol Miles Davis would have approved.  Vive le French Ivy.

A couple of years back there were loads of Flusser Slack jackets on the 'bay, mostly cord or linen, quite expensive IIRC.

Re: Q. And A.

Hi Uncle Jimbo- is it appropriate to finger a lady under the dinner table -when  dining in a restaurant with another couple?
Should I seek permission from her husband first?

Re: Q. And A.

I've always been very pleased with my NH sack, which is also ancient.  Best suit I own.  I don't go a bundle on suits on the whole: the Press I have looks like a sack of shit (IMO) and the updated Brooks is, well, dull and functional: a workhorse for those odd occasions when I have to dress to impress (before the judge etc.)

The Keydge sack, however, is an article of beauty, functioning cuff-buttons and all.  So unstructured, however, one of the lapels is forever going out of whack.  You just have to go with the flow.  I wanted one, rang JS who said "you're about the same build as me", and the deal was done.  Then bought a linen one in the shop a year later.  A good investment.
