I have had madras and flannel shirts from Uniqlo though not those in the picture. Cloths are fine.
Sizing is tighter than I prefer. They do not sell by neck size. XL in the flannel is tight on a 44 inch chest.
Most of the Uniqlo tops I have are a near perfect fit. Their Small feels like it was made for me. I guess I have a Japanese build.
i was in the oxford street store yesterday and they didn't have button down collars like they do on the site.
and there's also often a lot of items in the shops that never appear on the website... there were some cheap chambray work shirts a month or two back in two colours in the biggest of the 3 Oxford St shops, but they had black plastic buttons and so looked a bit weird

just had a look in two of the Oxford St branches and no sign of the BDs but had every single colour of the rest. not checked the largest branch yet (the one opposite John Lewis).
they had Madras shorts tho and a couple of plaid ties...

cheers, that's saved me a trip after work
Just bought the blue one off the website. Will report back on fit etc when it arrives.
I'm not recommending these or anything, it's just that I bought the two pictured
Uniglo are currently selling a version of the Slack Jacket for £30 (a top London face told me they were reduced to £20 this week) which is really rather good. Even Hubert Swaine has been known to expose himself to the brash pop music sounds and brain dead assistants that this retailer offers to get to these jackets. On first glance it is yet more shapeless pointless clothing but the trained eye spots the welted seams, the patch pockets, the authentic button spacing and softness of structure and says to himself "what we have here is a fine example of considered, well researched, historically sound, affordable menswear". Just a shame it was made by poor people in China.
GG
^ Has it got a hook vent ?

some more uniqlo madras.
Buying from Chinese communists is no better than buying from, say, some neo-Nazi organization. Anyone outsourcing to China deserves to lose business.
Ok, the shirt came in the post on Saturday. Perfect fit for me I'm a 15 1/2 inch neck ie small and it definitely ran true to size. Quite thin material (as expected - not a problem) and the check was really nice in the flesh.
One problem however - it wasn't a button down! I had no internet access at the weekend so put this down to me not looking at the picture properly, but I checked it this morning and they definitely are button downs on the website!
bugger, they've done that before with other shirts - am wondering if they are using photos from the Japanese site and don't bother making them button-downs for the UK to save money
