Re: Beautiful ties

The way I see it, a minimalistic cut is one that drapes cleanly, fits true to size, displays lines that form angles in the right places as opposed to curves everywhere, and has no bells and whistles (e.g. extended shoulders, round shoulders, lapped seams, ticket  pocket, patch pockets, slanted pockets, draped chest, too nipped in waist, suffocating-looking waist, wide sleeves, very open and rounded front quarters, lapels with a strong belly, 3 button rolled to 2, etc...)

I wear a little of everything when it comes to ties, I don't have Duchamp ties but I have some Richard James that are quite bold and (at least at the time I bought them) I think he has a very good sense of color and materials as a designer. I also like Italian ties, my favorite ties were designed by Mimmo Siviglia in Rome back in the 1960s.

Re: Beautiful ties

I respect your choices but I would have a very hard time buying or wearing the ties pictured here.
