I was a bit sniffy about rayon scarves with fringes first off.  I'd gone through the peacock stage (ahem, cough, cough) without ever wearing a scarf at all.  Then something flipped inside my brain and I began collecting like crazy.  Tootal are still nice IMO, and I have a rather raffish yellow number from John Simons sans fringes.  He wears a scarf well, and I once tried to buy the green one he was wearing.  A nice look on a certain kind of spring day is olive green slack jacket, green cords, burgundy cashmere and red paisley scarf.  Dark dessies. 

I know scooter boys wear 'em (but only the sussed ones - ha-ha)...
