I don't have the 3636 last. I have had 1 pair of Budapest-Oxford in F last, that were very sleek (too much so for my taste).
I think the Vass are a very good option, value wise. Their quality control isn't as good as I would like, and I would think that Edward Green or Lobb would be better in that respect, but then they are twice the price too.
Their business processes are just not what they are for a big top name (as I imagine it). My order was initially sent as a different model of shoe (the Oxford version), and the medallion on one of the shoe was slightly off center. No big deal, and they made it good with me by offering to either replace the shoes or giving me a 40% discount on the next pair. Still, the fact that there's a 5 - 8 week lead time and that communication is iffy means that someone who is not as $ conscious might find it advantageous to deal with a better established name - at 2X the price.
