Madras generally seems to get the thumbs up on here - in terms of shirts anyway - but even our esteemed John Gall seems to struggle with seersucker. Now, I couldn't afford a Paul Stuart suit, so I opted for pants. Talking Ivy here, chaps, what would you wear up top? These are the lovely subtle pale blue and off-white type - you know, y'all. Oh, and shoes. Bucks or loafers?

Here's another suggestion, but it doesn't seem popular with the person posting the pic, judging by her comment above!

Seriously though...a polo shirt might be nice in the right shade, if a little safe, same with a ocbd really, Personally I would go for a lightweight Smedley in sea island cotton. As for shoes, well loafer's for me would seem a tad heavy unless in a tan maybe, bucks..maybe a little bulky?. But then again I don't know what silhouette the "pants" (i'm assuming you're using the American usage of the word here) are, baggy or straight or slim??
Very slightly on the baggy side, my dear Prof. The gentleman in pink above looks a trifle nebbish. I might have favoured pink a few years ago, but not now. I was thinking along the lines of white or pale blue OCBD, unstructured linen jacket, maybe a lightweight yellow rayon scarf so that anyone motoring in the opposite direction can see me. The shoes... mm... I'd sort of like to get away with grubby Jack Purcell, but grubby white bucks might cut it. If I could find a matching jacket cheap it would solve the problem. OCBD, nice tie... Any additional comments most welcome...
