Who Are You?

The Intros thread...

The idea is just so that nobody can get confused between a newbie and an old hand. It might make our chats easier....  Maybe?

Sometimes life will kick you in the ass. I only have a vague recollection of a time when it wasn't kicking mine.

Today I'll bake; tomorrow I'll brew,
Then I'll fetch the queen's new child,
It is good that no one knows,
Rumpelstiltskin is my name.

Sounds better in German:

Heute back ich, morgen brau ich,
uebermorgen hol ich mir der Koenigin ihr Kind,
ach wie gut dass niemand weiss,
dass ich Rumpelstilzchen heiss...

Re: Who Are You?

I am the gausino in the mescal of life, or at least the fly in the ointment of blue jean cruisers, a card carrying archaeologist by avocation, horse trainer by vocation and anything else that brings in money. I'm 55, have a romanian fiancee named Lorelei a cat named Piewacket and horses named Bad Bob, Annie and Pumpkin.
In my spare time I like engaging in civil disobedience, enjoying classic Mauser 98 hunting rifles ( I do not hunt) and pursuing the reconstruction of a man's wardrobe in an age of studied mediocrity.
I like classical music, jazz, good books and good liquor. I'm a single malt scotch and armanac man unless at sea ( 6 year Coast Guard vet ) which calls for hot buttered rums in winter or gin and tonics during the summer.
My favourite book of all time is Wind Sand and Stars by Antoine de Saint-Exupery. My expression of religosity is Eastern Orthodox with a long appreciation and study of Buddhism. Pushing any religious dogma or condemning other's on people is extremely rude.
My favourite movie is Treasure of the Sierra Madre.
