fun thread.
hate:
-bowties with a passion
-seersucker, unless I'm at the Kentucky Derby
-this will go down like a lead balloon, but I hate suede dessies
-madras jackets
I think this kind of confessional thread is good for the soul, very cathartic. Let it all out chaps, free yourselves from your hate...
How about those tasseled kiltie jobs where the tassels are at the end of bows?

wide trousers. particularly when worn with a shoe that it just doesn't work with. the proportions between shoe and trouser must be correct!
for example, 14 inch bottoms look SHOCKING with most loafers, in the same way that 18 inches would look horrific with a slimmer shoe.
Tortoise shell sunglasses. Not sure if they even qualify but they certainly are loved here by every frat boy douche bag south of the Mason-Dixon line. For what it's worth I still wear loafers but only with the Beefroll. Once I started wearing Weejuns with the roll and Ski-Mocs every plain strap loafer looked feminine to me. I have no idea what that is about. Also to connect with another thread any leather saddle shoe that isn't black/cordovan or perhaps some type of dark brown also looks feminine to me.
+1 on the beefroll. I also think a plain strap loafer looks too dainty
for the manly men, my fave loafers are Church's with beefroll AND tassles (no kiltie!). may sound garish but these are the fuckin bees knees
like said, white laevi's very cool on a young slim chap but a no-no for older men. well, if one looks as slim in his forties as in twenties it might work of course.
Just thought of another item - or rather an absence of an item.
Socklessness.
Especially with loafers.
How ugly and uncomfortable is that ?
At least those girly, hidden-sock things for trainers give some comfort.
First thing I bought from the 346: The Navy 'Makers' Blazer.
Still wearable... But I wear it in a different way now.
One of Mr. John Gall's first posts here mentioned the Navy Blazer & if it could still be worn & worn well, being as seeing as how it is so devalued now.
- Worth a thread?
How to recalim the Blazer?
Best -

Socklessness with loafers isn't uncomfortable at all if you've been doing it all your life. Onlookers who find it ugly are perfectly free to spend less time staring at my stunning ankles. Little girly-sock things are the invention of the Anti-Christ and a sure sign of the coming Apocalypse, though excusable when medically necessary.
i always wear keds with no socks.
when i get a pair, i think i'll wear white bucks with no socks, too!
