'Street' Ivy?

Not the clothes that you wear to work or to attend a Wedding, Funeral, New Year's Eve Party or any of those other things that we sometimes play with on certain threads over here.

What do you wear without thinking about what to wear?

What are your base line, stumble out of bed, Ivy options?

Bean jeans are for people who hate denim and wish to perpetrate a beastly crime against the noble fabric. Can only reasonably be teamed with a white roll-neck and fanny pack when on European 'vacation'. The ultimate in hoisting the white flag and admitting:

"I really don't care about clothes anymore."

Re: 'Street' Ivy?

Right now, end of May, toss-up as to weather being sunny, verging on summery or a flip dark chill wintery bastard - and wet:

Old Bean chinos. They have the perfect leg for...
Quoddys or Sperrys or even these new-fangled LE boat shoes (jury still out) or loafers
Ralph pink uni stripe ocbd missing a couple of buttons and fraying at collar (if chill); madras or other colorful short sleeve otherwise
Plain grey Bean sweatshirt and/or McGregor Drizzler as needed
Duffel bag with fishing clothes - fish pants, fish shirt, fish socks for use with waders - stays in car at all times. Four rods of various lengths and line weights, plus case with reels, plus chest pack (abandoned the vest years ago), hat, polarized shades, plus assorted fly boxes and doodads.

Re: 'Street' Ivy?

I'm willing to trade the little man on the horse for the lack of pocket, the collar roll, the overall fit and the $2 at the Bargain Barn thrift shop, Sharon, Conn.

Somebody in my size retired or died or something, and one day there was a whole pile of Ralph shirts, which I scooped up. A dozen or so for $25, in conditions ranging from coat and tie ready to moderately seedy.

Re: 'Street' Ivy?

Why wear American or Italian clothes in London anyway?

Why buy imported records?
