Yes, the authentic 1976-78 variety.

The trouble with cinema and dining is how most establishments conduct it. If you visit some of the remaining restored movie houses with one widescreen, artwork, ushers in uniform, perhaps an organist and they play an old classic movie it's wonderfull. The second to last time I saw a movie in theater was in Santa Cruz on Valentine's day. I took my friend Allison to see Romeo and Juliet and Brother Sun,Sister Moon-AND a bugs Bunny cartoon at this ancient moviehouse that creaked like an old ship. Allison's Mohawk was a great point of reference as I came back with our cherry cokes, popcorn and bon bons. We needed it all!
Within minutes the sweet smell of marijuana slowly filled the old building as all these middle aged, balding David Crosby and greying Joni Mitchells in grannie gowns snuggled close over a bowl. Afterwards we walked the boardwalk to a moroccan restaurant with mint tea and floor cushions.
Two years later I'm in Southern California, the girl looks like any number of perfect, tall blondes with even teeth. The movie is one of six playing, the popcorn stale and the surround sound awfull. The drunk teenaged girl behind us puked and we had to move twice after the guy next to us urinated in his pants and smiled at my date. I think we had sechuan which was so authentic and plain awfull compared to classic chinese-american cooking.
I plead complete ignorance about popular beat combos particularly those playing death metal.
Are followers required to wear black ?
Does it sit easily with a taste for good shoes ?

Dead Kennedys? Jello was my roommate for all of 3 days. He moved out telling mutual friends " that guy is SERIOUS, I mean he really knows how to scuttle whaling ships. And he owns an elephant rifle for blankety blank." It was actually a bear rifle and only killed tin cans.
David, I think Old Santa Cruz was far more fun than the post earthquake rebuild. I met Utah Phillips downtown picking up some wobbly activist from the old hotel that always had the faint wiff of stale urine and tobacco( the hotel.) But the music was terrific. I went to a concert at the unitarian hall and heard two members of the old irish Bothy Band and met a scottish girl living in a redwood treehouse behind my campus dorm. Sometimes soldiers from Ord would show up on weekends and I was ambassador between two rather different cultures.
