Honestly I am not sure what he goes on about sometimes, not being English, but this caught my attention for obvious reasons. Sort of an interesting take on another one of our humble forum discussions.

Oh I wouldn't know. Like I said he seldom posts about anything that is on my radar but I do remember his friend making endeavors on here, and some of his blog posts are fairly humorous.
Well, each to their own, of course.
Just been on this site. He professes to run an advertising agency and PR company! I do hope he's not the copywriter...
It's the sarcastic man with the bad spelling formerly known as The Style Councillor. He used to post here, and although I rarely agree with him I too find that blog 'fairly humorous'.
This isn't worth mentioning or bothering about... He's just another internet attention whore!
Oh dear he is truly a cretin is he not? The mod world's very own John Gaunt/Richard Littlejohn, though I doubt he would recoil at such a description. The absolute epitome of a certain kind of very British belligerence fuelled by ignorance and a shockingly poor education.
GG
i like the way how he uses the word 'fuckin' very creatively!
..sorry i'll get me coat..
Me thinks, that the lady protests too much:
QUOTE
THE TORCH SOCIETY
UNITED KINGDOM
Are an elite and fiercely anti sycophantic PR & Advertising Agency that will not sell it’s soul for the corporate £/$ no matter what. Unlike most of the parasitic media whores currently infesting our industry with their mawkish piffle & lies. So if you find the truth hard to take or straight talk offensive, may we respectfully suggest you take your cowardly, spineless self to one of the clueless whores and do one.
UNQUOTE
Reads like some diatribe from the head union convener at BP Grangemouth circa 1999. I would suppose that if one did a D&B search on that advertising agency, one would find the company and directors insolvent/bankrupt/banned from being company directors or turnover less than 10 grand a year - allegedly. I don't know, couldn't possibly comment, or offer an opinion.....or do a D&B search;)

I think a lot of the comments have been interesting. I want to make sure it's understood my posting of his comments on this forum was not an endorsement of the guy. I know nothing about him, his business, or his personal style. I am not in a position to agree or disagree with his opinions about most things because I have no common frame of reference. Maybe it's a personal failing (i doubt it) but I find humor in anyone who can get that angry about anything. I also hold a special place in my heart for those who take on sacred cows. Button-pushers can be tedious but in small doses are always interesting.

Fair enough. I just wanted to see what reactions were to what he posted. I knew what some would be. I guess I am more interested in hearing different opinions from the same place. I didn't mean to imply I couldn't understand what he thinks, that is brutally obvious. I meant what he speaks about is usually irrelevant to me. I understand and appreciate how much J. Simons means to the English posters. I also understand that some posters rightly or wrongly feel their pretentiousness is justified by their time spent involved in these clothes. Neither of these things really mean that much to me personally. How could they? I'm just interested in a diversity of opinion. This forum does usually provide this diversity. "Clearing their throat" is a brilliant and apt phrase by the way.
Though I may not like the style of writing, I have seen similar styles on this forum used by posters other than style councillor. It is just that the subject was not J Simons.
I like to see an alternative view. Style councillor has expressed a view that he can buy better at places other than J Simons. Nothing wrong with that view; though you may want the detail, the chapter and verse.
He has a fair point in noting that J Simons is set up by some on the forum as the holy grail. Probably because some of you know the man and have sought him out for advice. Not everyone does that though.
As for torch society comments on Sheffield United, I am glad they were not promoted. Twats like Warnock and Sean Bean are bad memories.
Burnley are a proper club - founder member of the football league. Preston also have a proud history. Reading I like because of Steve Coppell and some the individuals who were in his squad.
Sheffield United ? No Thanks.
I really don't mind people 'pushing buttons' and playing devil's advocate at all, as long as they are funny and use a reasonable standard of grammer. As for our chum under discussion here, he just comes across as a boorish, ranting madman, barracking passers-by from his street corner soap box.
Yes, be controversial, but do try to be entertaining with it...
