Re: J-Keydge Slack Jackets

Hey 1966, how did you find the jacket? Does anyone know how to get a hold of these outside of france / j simons? Thanks!

Re: J-Keydge Slack Jackets

This is proving to be a bit of a nightmare. A friend ordered it for me but the jacket has yet to arrive at his French address. We're waiting for an e-mail reply and a refund. Or a jacket.

I have a very similar jacket to one pictured in black needle cord. I think i'ts late 60's/early 70's John Collier (Now there's a blast from the British High Street past).

Sorry to hear that 1966. I didnĀ“t get a response at all from their e-mail when I tried to get in touch with them. Maybe those prices were too good to be true...

Re: J-Keydge Slack Jackets

Just when I'd almost given up on the jacket it finally got here yesterday. Took over a month and several e-mail reminders for it to arrive. I ordered navy cotton and got a linen one. Do I recommend this site? Let's just say it's not a hoax.

This one turns out to be called the model "Ivy" - 3/2 roll and 2 button sleeves. The waist is a bit snug and it's long in the arms. I'd have preferred cotton but I'm not going through the trouble of sending it back. It's here now and it looks wonderful.

J.Press in Cambridge carries these in navy. Maybe tan as well, I forget. Very snug. Might want to ask for measurements.

Welcome to Chaos, Quincey!

The Press version is darted I think... But that's just a personal choice call in the grand scheme of things...

Re: J-Keydge Slack Jackets

That mushy pea green Haspel I fail to recall.  I really ought to be imprinted on my brain like, say, John Bercow in leather underwear.  Once seen, never forgotten no matter how hard one tries.  But I did wear some terrible stuff in those days.  I do remember a rather artificial blue plaid number, worn with Walk Over 'FBI' shoes and a navy raincoat.  All rather absurd.

Re: J-Keydge Slack Jackets

I remain a firm fan of these jackets.

It appears that the company still exists in some fashion. I purchased a seersucker Ivy jacket with a slightly wider lapel last year.
