Hell! It's SATURDAY.
We do a Valentine's day tea at home with the kids. Couple of tureens, couple of pates, cuke sandwiches, scones, macaroons- the works. A lot more fun than going out.
Car into shop for 1,200 mile service.
Brown plaid sportcoat (Polo)
Camel v-neck sweater (Neiman Marcus)
White OCBD (Black Fleece)
Straight fit selvedge denim (JCrew)
Black pebble grain longwings (Black Fleece)
Had time to smoke a wonderful Illusione No. 2 while I waited. What a day.
dark grey (shot through with pale blue, only visible in daylight) 1960s Rose Bros. sack jacket, high-roll three button, lapped seams, hook vent. Now hanging on my late father-in-law's trouser press. Unlined beige Brooks fly-fronted mac on top.
very dark brown (re-dyed) C&A chinos, one of the few shades that work OK with a grey suit jacket
old Van Heusen OCBD in white, no tie
dark grey sweater vest (again, C&A)
dark olive socks, GBX dark brown suede chukkas (LaCrosse rubber rain boots for the slushy walk to and from the car)
navy-faced, stainless steel Hamilton Genève tank watch on navy leather strap
the more 'respectable' end of my work wear spectrum, trying to look halfway serious...
Mixed blue and yellow stripe shirt, purple tie with lilac diamonds on it, navy double breasted broken pinstripe suit in 120s worsted, yellow pocket square with blue swirls, blue socks with lavender paisleys and black lace ups. Oh and my cat/fiddle, cow-jumping-over-moon enameled oval links.
Custom-tailored hopsack navy blazer; SBNL 3B side vents
yellow T. Lipson OCBD
pale green tie -- woven with a horizontal self-stripe (crepe?)
Coppley MTM charcoal flannel slacks; pleated and cuffed
#8 shell Alden cap-toe bals
fun with textured fabrics, a little bit of colour, and no patterns
