i've come round to the idea of the american brogue. do any come with thinner soles?
all the vintage florsheim ones i've seen, whilst lovely to look at, make me look like a right cock.

I've just seen a pair of Alden Longwings on some blog with a single sole and i'm not sure they look all that good without the chunkiness.
These Barker's however seem to have a slightly thinner sole(perhaps just through wear) and are in the loveliest colour imaginable

Loake used to do one very much like it. But we're going back maybe fifteen or more years. A thorough scouring of the charity shops sometimes produces Loakes where I live - made in the UK, too. You have to be a bit wary of the modern offerings.
