LL Bean Duck Boots

i'm taking a strange liking to these most unconventional things , both from a practical (ie waterproof for long photography missions) and sartorial .

Does anyone have an opinion ?

I wear them all of the time in fall and winter.  A good look with jeans and oxford shirt.

I understand the duck boots are still made in Maine, which, if true, would be one of few Bean products made in the US.  They are not practical for walking long distances, however.

Re: LL Bean Duck Boots

They are still in fact Made in Maine. I may be wrong but I think the boots, along with the "Boat and Tote" bags, are the only Bean products left still made there. I've never really liked them as a style choice but they are perfect for deer hunting (welcomes snark). Sitting in a deer stand doesn't require long distance walking and they are relatively quiet on the forest floor when walking to and from the stand.

I wear the Gum Shoe version in the snow a lot. I love how ugly they are. Ugly to the point of beauty.
