Tonik, Crispaire, who thinks of these names? H&S is probably the most interesting. The names don't seem to correspond to anything meaningful. I think I have a jacketing length of H&S Snowy River (silk, wool, and linen). My favorite was Scabal's Palette (cotton and silk jacketing).
Mohair, feels bad, looks bad. Didn't Doctor Evil reference it in Austin Powers? I have an old H Lesser crepe/twist suiting 7 ounce, with a thin red stripe on navy. Porous, holds its shape well, without the courseness or dull, matte finish of 'Fresco' (TM). Lesser made it also in a red stripe on grey as I recall. No plans to repeat it when I inquired a few years ago. Lovely stuff.
I've read the h8ers and lubbers of mohair on this thread. I've also seen piccies of them on the boardz. Never have I been more convinced that mohair was stylish.
