On Ivy Style under the "Ivy Magazine 57" article there are some comments by a guy called Paco that make for some interesting reading IMO. He seems to hold a blanced view on the changes that took place and what influenced them.
Anyone know of him already? Can we get him here? I like to hear stuff from people who were around and wearing this stuff in the 60's.
I'm not saying he wouldn't be welcome, and although its up to Paco, if he don't know this site exists he ain't a comin (yet)
Or are you saying you're "Paco"????
Man you could give Ethan Hunt and IMF a run for their money
Who is 'Paco'? Who is 'Keyser Söze'?
Most of the names on Ivy-Sty (including ours!) are just names used for that site - You won't see them all elsewhere.
Equally the whole business of 'I post on AAAT so I won't post on FNB' is a lovely indication of the unsophisticated minds one encounters online.
... Mr. Alden Pyle and I often banter... But we wouldn't if he knew I was also R.S.
The whole business is BS.
/\ You mean "Paco" might not be his real name. I never thought of that!
So you're not really called Russell? And Beatnik is that not really your name? Maybe its really Nik Beat?
Now I need to go speak with my mom, Mrs Sea Kelp, about why she named me Prof.

In a way what I mean is that there are no names that you can really trust.
Troll user-names often have multiple users and are passed around. Doing this via a 'Postman' ( a dummy email addy) stops this being obvious to any Mod who might check up.
Canadians have posted as RS via London and nobody knew.
Equally RS has popped up South of the Mason Dixon and never been clocked.
It's a real problem online!
You might have been out for drinks with 'babycatcher' on AAAT, but you'll never know if he isn't a part of a greater network of fun lovin' posters when you see a post from him online. How do you know that all that's under his name is from him?
(For the record 'babycatcher' isn't me, so rest easy)
That's both the problem & the fun.
Welcome to da Net!
I'm totally naive to this world of internet subterfuge. This is the first forum i've ever contributed to. I don't do 'Facetube' or other such nonsense. I don't even own a computer at home and i'm not a 100% sure what a 'troll' is.
Anyway, i'm here, and you are all my chums, be it virtual or not.
Don't worry about all the cyber shite Uncle. You are a good guy and for me that's the long and short of it.
And yes Prof, my name is Nicholas Beat. Regards to your mother Mrs Kelp.
SOME people are real... The rest we should just enjoy in exactly the same way as we used to enjoy 'The Fast Show'.
Sta Sharp!
