Just schmoozed one step removed from Pete's sofa.

There is a funny, ill feeling that comes with all of this...

What did the old boy have to say for himself?  Don Estelle once rang me.  He sounded a bit pissed off.  Oh, and I once rang Samantha Fox on her mobile.  She sounded even more pissed off.

Re: God Bless Anglo Ivy -

I've yet to have the one to one with Mr. Townshend, unless he called while I was busy celebrating almost talking to him.

My profound and sincere apologies to everybody I phoned yesterday. After I'd bothered all of you & bothered the guy who lives downstairs from me & we went out to a club and together bothered everybody there. I insisted that my name was Joseph Torpedo, proprietor of Torpedo's Speedos in Bude, and that he was my son for some reason.

Later a guy was just about to punch my lights out when I told him that I had this condition where by if he was to hit me then it would really hurt me. This made him laugh & so I am still alive this morning.

I do wish my wife would come home & save me from myself...

You have a phone number of someone who got dressed up as a mod by someone else way back when. We're bound not to be impressed.

Post it on Modcult Uncle wink

Go for it Jim. The opportunity to tap PT for info is too good to miss. Chens would be kicking himself not to land such a scoop. Assuming that he is familiar with The Who.

Brill!

I also look forward to the day, some time soon, when one of the original 'Take Ivy' models retires and finally has time to surf the net... ...quite a droll thought!

Re: God Bless Anglo Ivy -

... Just been on the blower to a chap and Richard Barnes' little known book MODZ!!!!! came up -

Check the description of the early stylists in their Blue suits with Black slip-ons all crinkly / gathered around the toe (neither of us could remember the proper quote) early on ...

Sound like American loafers or what?

I dunno!

Italian shoes are always talked about in this context, but they don't have that traditional 'pie-crust' lock-stitch on the vamp unless they are Italian copies of the American style. The Italian style loafer is far smoother - More so than the English style, even.

- And please don't wonder if any of this even remotely matters!  wink
