Re: Awesome Post of the Day

It's like they develop a mass hysteria and start buying tem just to show each other online with no intention of wearing them. It's like a medical disorder; Portnoy's complaint.

I still love the fresco mania they have over there which I think some of the lap dogs of some of the nastier posters over there delight in buying to be in comity with their "gods" and against me. Fresco is trash. I didnt make it trash, Im not saying it just because one of the biggest losers over there first "discovered" it and got those poor, trusting sods to buy it. I dont get a bonus if you dont buy fresco. It does illustrate how immensely clueless some people are about clothes who assert themselves as experienced. I was talking about fresco with my tailor the other day and we were having a good laugh. I wouldn't repeat what he thinks of fresco but it is comic.

Reeves' post is awesome, especially when compared to OxxfordSJLINY's slop

Re: Awesome Post of the Day

Here's another one. I didn't realize this tailor was in Manhattan. He probably knows most NYers like very light weight cloths. I actually wear cloths that are heavier than I should because I like the texture but the majority of men like to wear summer weights year round.

He is correct when he maintains that cut is paramount and indeed implies that cloth pattern is secondary.

Contrary to lies of FNB and Woofboxer, I (and most of the other "Buff Bastards") have been banned from posting on this forum. There are only a few posters left so don't waste your time on here. This forum is dead and nobody cares.

Re: Awesome Post of the Day

Great reply from David Reeves.

I sympathize with his point about the importance of ambition and innovation in the clothes trade.

I rather disagree with Despos' stance on recreating centuries-old traditions without bringing anything to the table on the excuse that these are "bigger than him".

Tailoring is not only about expert cutting and sewing, a vision and studies in style moving forward are traits of the greatest tailors.
