Slight Woody Allen vibe: blue pp Makers, navy Shetland crew neck, off-white chinos, saddle bucks.

Re: Ivy League style for today

The Shaggy Dog Harpo so kindly pointed me towards is slightly overdue; possibly because of Thanksgiving.  Should it not need handwashing, I may well put it on with an Irish-made Tattersal and chinos to nip out in.  I fancy fried chicken and dumplings from 'Roots'.

Hand washing! Only thing you can do with a Shetland or any other wool...

Should've seen the cashmere scarf my girl put in the machine!

Re: Ivy League style for today

It has to be done carefully, with the right amount of liquid and the water at just the right temperature.  Then the rinsing, spinning and drying.  Worthwhile, though, to take the time and trouble.

Re: Ivy League style for today

sure, you can ruin something with hand washing, too, especially with hot water...

I prefer to do all my washing and ironing (not too much wink) myself, you don't want to be angry with a beloved person for doing something that they did with the best intentions...

me today:

navy lambswool v-neck sweater, blue and white Brooks OCBD, white shirt, blue jeans, black socks, brown desert boots, brown suede Harrington...

Re: Ivy League style for today

^ LOL

I passed a group of pensioners yesterday, quite a few of the men were wearing some sporty shirt under a zipped cardigan.
Me too.

Today I'm in yet another zip cardy, a beige fluffy merino Smedley, with a grey cashmere Uniqlo crewneck underneath. Both have holes. Below the belt it's all reproductions bought long ago - faded Levi's 1944s and dirty 1960s Incontinence pants Gazelles.

I'm looking at two pairs of deep, stunning old American shoes though, freshly polished.

^ That silver-grey color goes well with jeans, corduroys, and chinos of various shades and colors.
