Re: Ivy League style for today

Thanks Lee(and George too). The shirt came from Zach at Newton Street Vintage. He does great things with that time machine of his. The Levis aren't big E. Nor are they LVC reissue. I did buy these after Oliver flagged the LVC 519 as having a good rise and taper though. I found mine on ebay for about $20 delivered but when they turned up they were far too baggy but were tapered, so I had them taken into my usual taper with a 14" bottom. I think the rise is higher on these than the LVC ones actually. More like the rise on vintage big E sta prest. The colour is probably much the same as what is called 'fog' now... but I've always known that colour as stone. The same way that Levis call, what I called sand, 'grit' now.

Thanks for the insight by the way. It's always good to know where other posters are coming from and you've definitely come from IT. Steeped in it, you are! Welcome to the forum btw if I haven't said so already.

Re: Ivy League style for today

Love the Bluchers. Love the tie.

I'm being a super slob today.

French F2 field jacket- bought this years ago for work but never wore it. Dug it out after the Woody Allen chat of the last few months.
Battered and frayed chambray BD
Uniqlo navy cotton crewneck
Off white big E Sta Prest- no prest left
Navy wool socks
Beater DB's- cola.

Somehow I think Mr Drink would approve.

Re: Ivy League style for today

Hot days of pre summer...

Preppy day:

red Sebago Docksides (no socks)
light washed out yellow (like vanilla) Land's End Chino shorts
horizontal striped four button Polo navy/light blue with attached "collegiate" number on the chest (Peak Performance)
Ray Bans (don't know the model, those are "new" very 60s looking tortoise ones by Luxottica)

In the morning I wore a light blue cotton kable knit.

Spotted an older guy (about 70 years old) on the street that wore a checked (mostly blue/navy) button down poplin shirt wit decent collar roll, flat fronted greyish blueish linen trews with 1 3/4 inch cuffs (very uncommon here in Austria, cuffs are mostly on trews with pleats), perfect lenght (VERY slight break) no socks and burgundy beefrolls. His belt matched the shoes. If he had a Blazer it would have been easier to identify him as an Ivyist... but all in all he looked as Ivy as many here on the forum. The details - cuffs, trouser break,  Beefrolls, shirt with collar roll - were pretty Ivy. At least he looked VERY well dressed.
