You're running to catch up Marc. I quoted the relevant part of the site about 3 pages back. However, you have successfully found the bit that describes the clothing you rely on as "Hacking jackets". Which I have explained to you some time ago.
Never mind - good try and well worth the hour it took you to catch up.
I refer my honourable friend to the comment I made 3 pages ago.
Sorry - I was teasing you elsewhere.
If you tell me when your birthday is then, for your forthcoming 17th, I will buy you a dictionary. That will assist you with the meaning of Maestro and that of back-pedalling.
For now it suffices, I think, to say that back-pedalling means retreating from a proposition actually advanced. That is to say - not the one you put into my mouth by chopping my quotes up and fibbing.
Give it up.

I'd be forever greatful I would Mr. Grayson, sir...cor blimey, fancy that...a trust...what a gentleman you must be, what with your trust and all those big fancy words you use...cor...I can't get over it, really I can't. Wait till I tell my sister when I visit her in the poor house tomorrow. Me having banter with a proper knob on the internet.
Wow, I don't know about anyone else, but I certainly am learning alot about Neapolitan tailoring!
This most recent back-and-forth is truly ridiculous. The disagreement was clearly based on a fine (semantic?) distinction -- that of a 'sports jacket' vs. a 'hacking jacket.' Marc, why don't you just admit that this distinction might actually have historical relevance and move on, rather than trying to prove your point? Moreover, certainly it might be understandable that, as an American, a distinction between the two did not occur to you, or, alternatively, that perhaps you misread/misinterpreted Silkie's initial comment on the matter. After all, he did not spell out the distinction in his first post on the topic, merely stated that 3 buttons were not traditional on a Sports Jacket. Given the ill will between the two of you (or at least you to him), I think one could understand that you were looking for any mistake he might make. However, if you re-read his comment and the subsequent reiteration of same, you aren't really doing yourself any favors (favours?) here.
