Mr Stoat meets Mr Badger.
The obvious sponsor for Crompton's webshite would be Lord Willy's - http://www.permanentstyle.co.uk/2012/05/lord-willys-best-of-quirky-tailors.html
Cromps - http://www.permanentstyle.co.uk/2012/06/clothes-should-be-worn.html
"Prince Charles, pictured during the recent Diamond Jubilee celebrations for his mother, is a perfect embodiment of that philosophy. Not only does he wear Mr Hitchcock's double breasteds, but he always prefers to darn, patch or otherwise repair his clothes rather than buy new ones. There is a box of old cloth under Mr Hitchcock's cutting board with just that purpose in mind."
Thomas Mahon was Prince Charles's cutter and his suits were sent to Mahon to repair - http://www.englishcut.com/2007/03/14/a-royal-headache/#comments
Since 2006, Prince Charles has bought MTM suits from Turnbull & Asser - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/1509079/Suits-you-Sir.html.
"John Hitchcock, the managing director of Anderson & Sheppard, which is 100 years old this year, confirmed that the Prince was no longer a customer."

I don't think A&S would appreciate me listing all the people that make the clothes that will be in the shop. But most of the purchases have been from people like Will at ASW, and most of the hunting down has come during trips for my next book.
By the way, in case anyone doesn't know, I should declare an interest: I work for A&S writing their Notebook apprentices' blog.

Old Fruit - no - and I have no intention of going there either! The old A&S guys were reclusive and secretive. They must be spinning in their graves to see what the place has become, under PR-man Cromps.
PS - anyone guess what the letters 'SC' stand for on Crompy's Louis Vuitton fag-bag?
PPS - I expect that Crompy is down there in East Sheen rubbing his -er - hands - with glee on the basis that there's no such thing as 'bad publicity'; not even if you're Max Clifford..

Cromps is in the weekend FT today crapping on about a renaissance in French bespoke.
