I was going to order a pair of those "gold" framed shurons.

But I think I have decided on half frames.

I have a pair of the tortoiseshell Revelations, as does Hepcat and Harpo I think.

Vic at optometrist attic is helpful in emails.

To my eye those are  a lot larger than the Lennon NHS specs.  Vic would I think be able to tell you about Lennon NHS specs.

Bump for this thread, just arrived from the US, a pair of the Shuron Ron Strong's. And they are big in keeping with the Ful-Vue moniker. Not ideal if you are in the -4/-5 myopia range like me = large lens and thicker too. Probably not a good idea to buy, currently at the opticians getting lenses fitted.

I ordered the 50mm lens width size, but should have gone for the 46mm or 48mm. I've the Shurons Ronsirs in the 44mm and these are too small as the temples don't go straight back, but have to flare out a bit. Most of my other glasses have 50mm identified for the lens width size. Mine are in silver.

Now I'm thinking I should have sent them back, but I've already taken them to the opticians at lunch time. In any event, they can be used for bike riding and in the sun as I've got the clip-ons and they're large enough to provide really good UV protection.

This is the danger when ordering on the internet and in particular with ordering glasses. Myopic dudes should always get the smallest lens width possible to avoid the inverted effect the lens has on the side of the face.

Dunno' they were USD$205 with courier to the Netherlands.

Vintage glasses were indeed much smaller as they were using glass and they would be extremely heavy with large frames.

Now I am convinced I should have sent them back. Bugger!

Well, I did get the clip-ons as well in that price. I've been placing them over my Ronsirs this morning and once again being reminded that this size is way too big.

Right, I have now taken delivery of my Shuron Ron Strongs in a smaller size i.e. 40mm lens size. Also a 42mm would be okay too, definitely would not want these any larger. A remarkable difference, they look superb. Like John-Boy Walton, except I'm 41 next week and bald.

Currently getting the larger size lens ground down from the 50mm size.

The lesson in this, confirmed by my optician, is that sizing round lenses is difficult and you can't rely on normal sizing.

I normally take a 47-50mm lens size range and if you are similar size to me, you need to go down significantly in the Shuron range:
Ronsirs = 44-46mm
Ron Strongs = 40-42mm
