David .. those loafers look pretty flash .. in a good way. Got to be in the right mood to put those on in the morning though.

I like your white/cream trousers as well .. what cloth are they made from? I'm always on the lookout for cream trouser material, but am always concerned that they could get easily ruined with a random spillage.

^ I think it's important to note that some people learn theory through the opposite direction, ie., the unravelling the code you mention, as opposed to building on learned theory with artistic ability. You pretty much mention it, just pointing it out further.

I agree. Miles is also my favorite of the bunch not so coincidentally.

Hmmm makes you wonder how all those cream flannel trouser wearing guys back in the 'sartorial golden age' got away with it. Surely even if you had staff to do laundry it would still be a problem as stains could turn out to be permanent.

In fact, English sportsman must have almost been putting two fingers up at fate as they CHOSE to wear white flannels to play cricket, tennis etc ... even going as far in cricket to shine their red cricket ball on their cream flannel trousers as a matter of habit .. thus making quite sure to grubby them. What is the logic of all this?

That's a nice colour, I'd call it a French Blue. Very vibrant as you say. Strolling past the yachts in a harbour with some white linen trousers ... ideal Its only 8 oz though FNB so why were you hot in this?

Ive been listening to some Miles Davis recently, after some of the above conversation started by BOP .. ive never opened myself up to Jazz as I didn't think it was for me, but im enjoying it .. its growing on me. I listened to the Miles Davis Some Kind of Blue album which didn't grab me and shake me around, but I was moving around to it and tapping my feet so I might be developing a taste for this kind of stuff. Any recommendations on what to check out next?

/\ those blues are great for the the seaside and in the bright sunlight, have one in superlight soft napped cotton, wish I remembered what the cloth was, quarter-lined, very nice in the summer with blue jeans
