I thought George Strait also did some decent stuff. Even Alan Jackson. But I don't think current mainstream "country" has any room for halfway decent artists anymore. But I stopped even trying to listen many years ago.
Straight and Jackson definitely had some good stuff.
Sort of thought Dwight Yoakam, Steve Earle, Del McCoury were the last guys out there doing it right, not counting Merle and Willie .....
Country would not have slid into the abyss if Dwight and Steve had been able to keep their hair.
