years ago I had a double breasted -shawl collared -navy blue heavy weight cardigan with gold , metal buttons. I often wore this with shirt and tie as a substitue blazer- used to love it I did- until I saw a gypsy in a pub wearing the self same cardigan - he paired his with soverign and horseshoe rings ( that and the caravan - was how I knew he was a gypsy) - kind of influenced my decision to no longer wear it.

you know someone  should really start a thread on gypsy clothing - all those dealer boots- - heavy knit cardigans-sage coloured shirts and too tight trousers.

I refer of course to Irish travellers ( do some tarmacing for you mister)- as opposed to Romany gypsies with their black pants tucked into their tall leather boots - with a romantic white blousy shirt - earring , bandanna and wide leather belt.
