I was thinking I hated this song, but then I started watching the video and decided I actually don't hate it. It's not great, but I don't hate it like I thought I did.
Huey Lewis and the News - The Heart of Rock 'n Roll

HAHA. Definitely its rightful place.
Marshall Tucker Band, "Can't You See." It was used as bumper music on "Imus in the Morning" today. Hearing it made me want to join ISIS.
Everything by The Cure - it stems from their god awful appearance and his Mick Jagger parody caterwauling.
Bon Jovi - (see torture thread)
Revivalist Mod for the majority is pretty shoddy
Cribs - Jesus how did these idiots get a record deal, a sign of the times for national radio that this bilge is given air time.
Dire Straits - just wrong
Nearest i've been to 'Wakey' is on the train when heading up into the dales to see family and friends!
Knew a lad from there, he was a nice chap, but never seemed to be on the ball.
This is highly irritating, and it got stuck in my brain as I shoveled snow.

It's called "I am the Best" by some Korean people calling themselves 2NE1.
Here is the first verse, which apparently means nothing in any language:
Bam Ratatata Tatatatata
Bam Ratatata Tatatatata
Bam Ratatata Tatatatata
Bam Ratatata Tatatatata
Oh my god
The song is used in an advertisement for Microsoft's "Surface" tablet.
Sunday, Feb. 1 was a bad day for the ears, between this thing and that goddamn Katy Perry song "Firework"
Shit. Pure shit.
When I was a student in the late 80s to early 90s, it was impossible to go to a nightclub without hearing Love Cats. Normally towards the end of the night and regarded as some sort of high point of the evening. One of those tunes everyone loves. It is crap.
And don't even get me started on mod revival.
Robbie Williams - any track is pure shit.
One of my long time pet hates:

Simply idiotic.
Sorry for misspelling your name Yuca by the way.
That's extra-painful.
Back in olden times these things were known as "promotional films" and were made sparingly by record companies to promote their top acts - The Beatles, for instance.
Somewhere along the line they became "art."
A lot of N soul is dross it's true, the majority in fact, but the scene did unearth some occasional beautiful tunes. I suppose an r&b fan who hates northern could claim many of the good tracks are r&b not northern, e.g. Walking Up a One Way St, Fortune Teller, etc.
This is absolutely ghorribaneous. You really need a platoon of guitar players to bang out that riff.
