Well, you probably want to get off Row if you want to maximize your value. Timothy Everest offers the whole gamut from RTW to bespoke. I think Hayward does as well, though I haven't kept up as much since Richie Charlton left.

I'd give Everest a go.

(Needless to say, not to visit one of the clown type tailors, who probably charge more than you want to spend anyway.)

As for odd trousers: if you're blowing all that cash and time then get a suit. If it's decent you can get a lot of wear out of it, even if you avoid using it for work purposes. I know a suit is too dressed up for many occasions in this day and age, but still, when you can get away with it, they're invaluable. I'd avoid a repp too, as I don't think they work in this country. A nice foulard or maybe plain colour will do you fine. Really I'd worry about that once you get the suit sorted.

Good luck. I've had 3 suits made in my life, and they've all been crap, but unless you choose the tailors I went to - unlikely - I'm sure you'll do better.

Those C&J look really good. Hope you get `em really shiney for the day.

It's certainly not for everyone, but it's not a farce either. It's the only way to really have full expressive control of what you wear. There's also the plain gratification of having something made for you and you alone.

I think by the amount i need the back pockets would be touching!
