When Is A Press Jacket Not A Press Jacket?

When it's being sold by an Ebayer who doesn't know the difference between Crew and Press apparently.
But nothing would surprise me when we see 'Canda' jackets being described as 'Ivy League'.
There is evidently a band wagon to be jumped on.

Oh yes, and it's 'Mod'.  A 'touch of seersucker with an open neck' possibly but not, surely, the entire jacket.

Just aside from that jacket, I often wonder to what extent Ebay sellers know (or care) just what it is they're offering.  I suppose there's always the possibility (likelihood, really) that we, as enthusiasts (as well as consumers) place a far greater value on something like a seersucker jacket or a particular pair of loafers.  I'm often seduced by Boom Years labels.  So, it's an emotional, aesthetic, complex response.  The seller, I suppose, just wants something in the bank.  But what about that adorable Madras jacket currently going begging on Ebay?  £20!

Depends. In recent years I see a lot of 50's'/60's stuff listed as "vintage 1980's" or even 1990's, and on the other hand, newish stuff listed as vintage (insert decade here).
