Yesterday evening was a fun night - my brother-in-law's 50th.

black brogues
ultramarine socks
tobacco poplin suit
white/pale grey striped shirt w. silk knots in blue/brown/silver
navy silk knitted tie

swopped the jacket for my Logan tartan sports jacket mid-party!

grey/green/black argyles, because they were there
faded old olive chinos, just a change from interminable khakis
brown belt (beer rationing paying off, gratefully noticed I could close one hole tighter today!)
black/white gingham seersucker BD, nice for today's muggy weather
khaki cotton sports jacket, for all the pockets

Double breasted self herringbone navy Lessers 11oz golden bale suit. Several shades of blue and white striped shirt with a Charvet red tie, duchamp oval cufflinks in gold with multi-colored enamel panels and a gold collar pin. Black cap toes and red socks.

Tan suede chukkas, dark green socks, brown/beige POW check trousers with rust/green overcheck, flat-fronted and cuffed, navy lambswool v-neck over petrol-blue BD w. navy and thin silver stripe repp tie. Beige Brooks mac and black umbrella (guess what the weather's like today...).
The whole thing was just too bland without the tie (the only repp tie I own, I'm not usually a fan), it does freshen it up a bit.

Black brogues, lovat-blue socks, very faded and rumpled olive chinos, dark grey zipper sweater w. stand-up collar over ivory BD and Brooks black knit silk tie (an older one, both ends 2 1/4" wide). Hip-length beige mac and black brolly.
