But, now you come to me and you say "Mike, give me justice." But you don't ask with respect. You don't offer friendship. You don't even think to call me Godfather. Instead, you come you ask me be Godfather of 'Ivy'.

Russell: I ask you for justice.

Mike: That is not justice your 'Ivy' is still alive.

Russell: Let the Trads suffer then. As 'Ivy' suffers. How much shall I pay you?

Mike: Bonasera. Bonasera. What have I ever done to make you to treat me so disrespectfully. If you had come to me in friendship then this scum that ruined your 'Ivy' would be suffering this very day. And if by chance an honest man like yourself should make enemies then they would become my enemies. And then, they would fear you.

Russell: Be my friend... Godfather.

I emphatically deny any associations with AAAT except through family.  Are you trying to TEACH me something ?  I'm not sure you are Moderate enough in your style.

I love all these remembrances of Classic orTraditional American style just offered to share information. No points to score, no theories to prove.

AAAT as it comes from the South primarily (although it looks to New England) is bound to be different to all this when you think about it. There is another mindset at work.
It's a shame things have worked out they way they have... But I think that's just the nature of the Internet and some people not being able to resist playing the Internet Gentleman.

/\ Maybe this is what has never set well with my personal interpretation of the Trad/TNSIL/Preppy look, is the generous use of bright colors such as lime green embroidered pants. Perhaps the midwestern understatement and the New England thrift and frugality are not so different.

Russ, thanks for putting my thoughts into words.

I need to think on this. Are there items which seem normal to my thoughts of the New England bend on TNSIL, but are absent in the AAAT version of Trad?
