Replacement of laces

I'm probably being very retarded here, but what do you do when your American laces go?  The guy who runs our local cobblers seems to have just come out of a halfway house and stands uselessly saying 'Dunno, mate'.  Not so bad with British stuff like Sanders, but American laces do seem slippier than ours.  Or am I off my rocker?

Re: Replacement of laces

I always tell people to talk to John Rushton at moments like this.

- Even if he can't help (unlikely) at least you get to chat to the great man.

Re: Replacement of laces

on a similar subject, branches of Clarks used to give away or sell the Originals type laces (used for most of the range -  Desert boots, Desert Trek, Wallabees etc), but i've tried all the central London branches recently and they seem to have stopped doing this, possibly a policy change? anyone with a friendly local branch, or should i start bugging the customer service people on the website?
